ABOUT US

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Peak Serenity is a nonprofit 501-C3 Foundation dedicated to fostering holistic well-being in alpine communities.

We understand the unique challenges faced by resort workers, athletes, and residents—from burnout and isolation to mental health struggles and the pressures of high-performance living. In the Rocky Mountain West, mental health and suicide rates in mountain towns are three times the national average.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide accessible wellness opportunities through our core pillars: Breath, Sound, and Movement that are designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit.

By partnering with local organizations, practitioners, and ski resorts, we aim to bring healing modalities to those who need them most, making wellness more accessible throughout the community, and ensure that every individual has the tools and support to live a balanced, healthy, and fulfilling life in the mountains.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to create a supportive, thriving alpine community where everyone —resort workers, athletes, and local residents— have access to holistic healing and wellness practices.

We aim to develop monthly programs that help resort workers combat burnout and cultivate tranquility in the workplace. Through community-building efforts, we strive to reduce isolation and create a web of support across mountain towns. Additionally, we offer pre- and post-competition workshops for athletes to address performance anxiety and facilitate post-competition decompression.

By bringing these initiatives to life, we empower and support the Alpine Community to live healthier, more connected lives—ultimately dissolving the "Paradise Paradox" and fostering long-lasting well-being in the heart of the mountains.

OUR PILLARS

“I have seen too many of my friends drown in alcohol and drugs, and become so depressed that getting out of bed to ski powder is nearly impossible. From homelessness and domestic abuse to severe depression and suicide, the dark side of ski towns is heartbreaking and is continuously swept under the rug to protect the image of "having the best powder day ever."”

"The combination of isolation, Peter Pan syndrome, income disparity, and lack of support for the local communities lead many to misuse alcohol and drugs while pushing ourselves even harder in the outdoors to chase the dream.”

“From Vail, South Lake Tahoe, and Jackson to Mammoth Lakes, Sun Valley, and Park City, suicide rates seem to be much higher in ski towns compared to bigger cities, and the lack of mental health and substance abuse treatment in these towns is alarming. Yet, ironically many of these places are often listed as the "top places to live in the United States."”
